Benda Motorcycles: The Bikes Everyone Jokes About… Until They Ride One
Benda Motorcycles: The Bikes Everyone Jokes About… Until They Ride One
Let’s be honest… before most people even see the bike properly, the first thing they react to is the name.
We’ve heard every joke going.
“Couldn’t ride something called a Benda.”
“Needs a rebrand.”
“He loves his big Benda.”
Honestly… some of them are funny. We get it. We laugh too.
But here’s the thing…
The second one rolls into the car park, half the people laughing suddenly stop talking and start staring at the bike instead.
And that’s what keeps happening with Benda motorcycles.
People come over for the joke… then stay because the bikes actually look incredible.

So… what actually is Benda?
Benda is a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer that’s grown massively over the last few years and is now sold in more than 85 countries worldwide.
Massive rear tyres.
Wild futuristic styling.
Bobber attitude.
Inline four engines.
Premium looking finishes.
And bikes that genuinely don’t blend in anywhere.
A lot of manufacturers play it safe these days.
Benda absolutely does not.
You can spot one from the other side of a car park.

“Yeah but… it’s Chinese.”
This is probably the biggest argument we see online.
And fair enough… years ago people did have concerns about Chinese bikes.
But the motorcycle world has changed massively.
The reality now is that some of the biggest growing brands in the automotive world come from China.
CFMoto, QJMotor, Voge, Benelli ownership, MG cars, BYD, Omoda, Jaecoo… they’re everywhere now.
Even brands people don’t realise are connected to Chinese manufacturing have huge production links there.
Most people happily drive Chinese-built cars, use Chinese-built phones, TVs, tools and electronics every single day without thinking twice about it.
So the motorcycle industry changing was always going to happen eventually too.
And what Benda seems to have done well is focus on building bikes people actually get excited about looking at.
They’re affordable, packed with features and genuinely stand out in a world where loads of bikes are starting to look the same.

The Benda range at CMS
At CMS Motorcycles Exeter we’ve had loads of people coming in asking questions about the Benda range.
Some come in because they’ve seen one online.
Some because their mate sent them a picture saying “look at the size of that rear tyre.”
And some purely because they heard the name and wanted a laugh.
But nearly everyone says the same thing once they see them in person:
“Actually… that’s really nice.”
Pictures genuinely don’t do these bikes justice.
In the flesh they look lower, wider, more aggressive and far more premium than people expect.
🔥 Chinchilla 500
Probably one of the most talked-about names in the range.
Yes… it’s named after the fluffy animal.
No… the bike itself is not fluffy.
The Chinchilla 500 is actually one of the easiest bikes in the range to ride and get on with.
It’s got relaxed cruiser ergonomics, loads of character, wide balloon-style tyres and a low comfortable riding position that makes it feel friendly straight away.
A2 friendly, confidence inspiring and surprisingly smooth.
Loads of reviews online have called it one of the better value cruisers currently available.
And weirdly… once people stop laughing at the name, most of them really like the bike.
Apparently Benda even hid little cat paw prints on some of the styling details as a nod to the Chinchilla name.
That sort of sums Benda up really.
Slightly mad.
But in quite a fun way.

🔥 Napoleon Bob 500
This one looks like it’s rolled straight out of a custom bike show.
Floating solo seat.
Chunky tyres.
Shotgun exhaust styling.
Low aggressive stance.
The “Bob” part comes from “Bobber” styling.
The “Napoleon” part is supposedly a nod toward Napoleon Bonaparte and the idea of something compact but powerful.
And honestly… that suits the bike quite well.
It’s not massive.
But it’s got serious presence.
This is the bike people walk over to and say:
“That thing looks cool.”
Even people who say they’d never buy one still want to sit on it.

🔥 LFC700
Now this thing…
This is where Benda stopped messing around.
The LFC700 is absolutely bonkers in the best possible way.
Huge rear tyre.
Futuristic styling.
Inline four cylinder engine.
Massive road presence.
Some people have genuinely called it the “Batman bike.”
And once you see it in person… you sort of understand why.
The LFC700 uses a 676cc inline four engine producing around 85bhp and revs all the way up toward 11,000rpm.
Which means unlike most cruisers… it actually screams when you open it up.
It’s weird.
It’s aggressive.
It’s slightly ridiculous.
And people absolutely love looking at it.
Yes… the massive rear tyre does make it feel different at slower speeds.
No one’s pretending it handles like a supersport bike.
But that’s not really the point of it.
The point is theatre.
Presence.
Noise.
And being something completely different to everything else on the road.

🔥 LFC700 Pro
This is the top-spec monster.
And honestly… the specification list on these bikes surprises a lot of people.
Brembo brakes.
Bosch ABS.
KYB suspension.
5-inch TFT display.
Aggressive integrated lighting.
This isn’t some bargain basement throw-together bike.
Benda has clearly put serious effort into making these feel premium.
The LFC700 Pro even picked up a Red Dot design award because of how wild and futuristic the styling is.
You might love it.
You might hate it.
But you absolutely notice it.

The bike community should still be the bike community
One thing we did want to touch on quickly…
There’s obviously loads of jokes around the Benda name.
That’s expected.
Most people are only having a laugh and a bit of banter.
But some of the comments we saw online aimed at people who actually bought the bikes got a bit unnecessary.
At the end of the day… someone’s worked hard, bought themselves a new bike and joined the biking community.
That should still be celebrated.
Not everyone wants the same thing.
Some riders love Harleys.
Some love sports bikes.
Some love adventure bikes.
Some want something futuristic and different with a tyre wider than their kitchen table.
That’s what makes bikes interesting.
If we all rode the same thing the bike scene would be boring.

Final thoughts
The easiest way to explain Benda motorcycles is this:
They’re not trying to copy everyone else.
And honestly… fair play to them for that.
They’ve built bikes that people talk about.
Sometimes because of the name.
Sometimes because of the styling.
Sometimes because the rear tyre looks like it belongs on a small car.
But people ARE talking about them.
And more importantly…
People are buying them.
Riding them.
Enjoying them.
The best advice we can give?
Ignore the internet warriors for five minutes and come see one properly in person.
Sit on it.
Look around it.
Start it up.
Because whether you love them or hate them…
You definitely won’t forget them.

We’ve got Benda motorcycles in stock now at CMS Motorcycles Exeter.
Pop into the showroom, have a look for yourself and decide your own opinion.
Who knows…
You might end up leaving with your own big Benda after all 👀
